Theatre review: Dreaming Of Leaves
The grotesquely protracted '“ and supposedly tragic '“ climax (scored to a live piano accompaniment of Moon River) of this post-apocalyptic farrago probably deserves some sort of award as one of the most magnificently misjudged moments of contemporary theatre.

Set after the “seas bled” and most of the population has fled “to the great Tesco in the sky” a group of survivors gather together in a hilltop church to subsist on raw fish while reminiscing about the past via unspeakable dialogue and attempts at physical theatre (‘dance’ would be really pushing it). It’s all grim – in every possible respect.
Until 26 August. Tomorrow 6:10pm.
