Charlotte Dobson off to a flyer in Olympic sailing as she tops leaderboard

Scotland’s Charlotte Dobson and partner Saskia Tidey are leading the way in the women's skiff 49er after the opening three races.

The Team GB pair made a flying start with successive victories before finishing sixth in race three.

Dobson, 35, from Rhu in Argyll and Bute, said: “It was a great day. I think if someone had told us we would have those results on day one we would have grabbed their hand off.

“It’s going to be a long series and just try and stay out of trouble. We will try and put together a series, it’s not very exciting, it’s boring, but if we can have as many boring days as possible then that is great.”
