Hockey: Moodie looks for Scots to regroup after 6-1 hammering by Germans
The 2004 Olympian yesterday saw his Under-21 side slip to a 6-1 defeat to Germany in their opening game in Den Bosch, the Netherlands. They were 3-0 down at the break and went 6-0 behind before Clydesdale player Scott Lindsay netted two minutes from time. Moodie admitted: “We competed well in spells but made too many basic mistakes.”
Fraser Sands (Grange) was handed two yellow cards in the 29th and 36th minutes and this made it difficult against the slick German side who are ranked third in the tournament, four places above the Scots.
