Golf: Vegas, here we come
Tait, the director of golf at the Kirknewton venue, and amateur partner Lawson, a dentist, shot a seven-under-par 64 in Perthshire. That was matched by Loch Ness pair Martin Piggot and Andrew Clark but the Duddingston men came out on top in a card play-off. They now go forward to the Grand Final of Europe's biggest Pro-Am event, which will be held at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort in Nevada from December 5-6.
They will make their appearance in the 36-hole final - supported by SkyCaddie and BMW - which is being staged over the Jack Nicklaus-designed SouthShore course. "It was the best moment of my golfing life - and I've been playing 20 years," said Lawson, a 44-year-old who plays off nine.
"To go to Las Vegas is fantastic - I might be cancelling some patients at the surgery that week."
Tait, the joint-course record holder at Carnoustie, is in line for a 5,000 prize in Nevada.
