Steven Whittaker has dismissed the notion that tomorrow’s friendly against England has an air of “after the Lord Mayor’s show” following last Friday’s crucial and emotionally-draining win over the Republic of Ireland.

That 1-0 win over the Irish at the same Celtic Park venue as tomorrow’s match ensured that the Scots remain in the pack chasing top spot in Euro 2016 qualifying Group D.

“A lot of the attention was on this,” Scotland full-back Whittaker told BBC Scotland.
