Celtic set to miss out on Max Power signing
Power, 21, has already knocked back a new deal at Prenton Park and Celtic were rumoured to be keeping tabs on the midfielder last month.
The Tranmere star has scored 10 goals in 32 matches for Micky Adams’ side, but is believed to be keen on making the step up.

Hide AdTranmere chiefs are undecided on whether to let Power leave in this transfer window for a fee, or hold onto him until his contract is up in the summer.
Reports in December suggested that £400,000 could tempt Tranmere into selling the 21-year-old to Celtic, but Brighton’s interest could persuade Power to continue his development in the Championship.
Despite his tender years, Power has made over 100 appearances for Tranmere in all competitions since signing a professional deal with the club in May 2011.
Made vice-captain at the start of the 2014/15 season, he has skippered Tranmere on a number of occasions due to club captain Marcus Holness missing several games through injury.
