Alyson McKechin is the flag bearer for Scots girls at Gullane
With the top 64 going through to the head to head knock-out, McKechin was comfortably in the top 15 on level par and she was joined by fellow-Scots Jessica Meek, on one over, Eilidh Briggs and Gemma Dryburgh, both on five over, and Lesley Atkins, on six over. Atkins will now face McKechin in the matchplay.
The cut-off fell at seven over par 153 and one of the unlucky losers on a second-round card countback was North Berwick's 14-year-old, Clara Young. She shot a 79 to miss out, but it does mean she will be able to keep a date to play a first-ever round with Catriona Matthew over their home course on Friday.

Hide AdAtkins is a Gullane member and she did herself few favours with an opening 79. But with a run of three birdies in a row from the 14th she staged a great second-round comeback and her 73 was the day's best Scottish score.
Jimenez, 17, from Malaga, had a five-birdie round again to put her on five under par, one ahead of France's Celine Boutier.
