School cordoned off by police after suspected ‘bomb’ discovered
A man is understood to have discovered what appeared to be an unexploded wartime device while walking on a nearby beach, and reportedly put it in his car to take to the police station in Fraserburgh.
In a statement on Twitter, Grampian Police said: “The ‘bomb’ at Fraserburgh was a wartime relic - had disintegrated to such an extent it contained no explosives and was not a viable device.”

Hide AdA police spokesman had earlier said: “A member of the public discovered what he thought was a World War 2 device on the beach. Instead of leaving it where it was, he drove it to Fraserburgh police station.”
