No second vote
Alex Salmond, on the morning of 19 September, reiterated his promise that the referendum was to be a “once in a generation” event.
He even defined a generation as equivalent to the period between the 1979 and 1997 devolution referenda.

Hide AdHowever, we now hear that Ms Sturgeon has refused to rule out a second referendum after the 2016 parliament election if there is an SNP victory, and has even hinted that if Britain were to vote to leave Europe, but Scotland opted to stay, that would be a legitimate trigger for another plebiscite.
As Nicola Sturgeon takes over from Mr Salmond as party leader she should, if she has an ounce of decency, accept the defeat of the nationalists in the referendum, rule out a second vote and respect the fact that with regards to this island, 400,000 more Scots chose unity over division.
