Drink-drive teacher to be sentenced
Classically trained cellist and folk musician Linsey Aitken, 44, “took to a bottle of whisky” at home after becoming stressed about her job.
The Stirling Council primary school teacher then went for a drive with a two girls aged 13 and 15 as her passengers, and was seen swerving between the lanes of the M9.

Hide AdStirling Sheriff Court heard that Aitken, who was due to be sentenced yesterday, suffered from depression and was signed off from work with stress.
Sheriff Wyllie Robertson said he believed sentencing should be dealt with by Sheriff William Gilchrist – who earlier heard the facts of the case – after hearing about the psychiatric report.
Aitken will now be sentenced next Wednesday.
