More than 10,000 Scots discharged from hospital after Covid-19 treatment
In total, as of January 19, 10,441 people have been discharged from Scottish hospitals after being treated for Covid-19.
The figures show the accelerating speed of the pandemic during the second wave and come since the emergence of the more transmissable variant.

Hide AdA total of 5,003 Scots had been discharged by October 20, with that doubling to over 10,000 on January 15.
It took more than seven months from April to October for the first 5,000 people to be treated and discharged for the disease during the first wave, figures show.
Figures for the number of people discharged from hospital after being treated for Covid-19 is not routinely published, but the data was made public after a Freedom of Information request.
The number of people in hospital with Covid-19 is at record levels, with 2,004 people being treated for the virus as of January 21.
