Coronavirus in Scotland: 50 new deaths as country records 1,089 cases in 24 hours
To date, 1,212 people are being treated for Covid-19 in hospital, 29 fewer than yesterday, and 85 people are in intensive care, a decrease of 3 from yesterday, having recently tested positive for the virus.
A total of 85,612 in Scotland are confirmed to have had the virus since the start of the outbreak in March, according to government figures.

Hide AdThe country’s death toll currently stands at 3,427 under the daily measurement.
The new 1,089 cases represents 4.6 per cent of new tests that were carried out yesterday.
Speaking at Parliament today after announcing the coronavirus figures, the First Minister said the Scottish Government will soon publish the R number estimate in Scotland which the First Minister expects will be “very slightly below one” indicating that the current “tough measures” have been effective.
